Despite the record of Rajwinder Kaur prior to the contest, the boxer was approved for the contest due to her strong amateur career with the Indian National Squad. Initial contest also took place at Light Heavyweight as such 1-0 record was accepted upon application by the International Boxing Council (IBC) and BIBA.

Coulson is now the unified WBU and IBC World Middleweight Champion. WBU title was not on the line in this contest.
