Notes: 

Jay Cartwright stepped in with 24 hours notice following contracted opponent Nicaraguan Jose Aguilar failing to gain entry into the UK after travelling from Spain.

The first two rounds were fought at a high pace, Jay Cartwright’s corner did not feel that he was unable to perform at that pace for another round and retired him. 

Jay Cartwright was contracted to make his professional debut on the 31st July 2021, He kindly agreed to the fight at very short notice even though he had not had the time to prepare fully for this contest. It should also be noted that his performance in the first two rounds was of a high level as well as fought at a high pace – referee Roger Barnor scored the first round a draw and the second 10-9 to Kevin Traynor.

Following video review it is the opinion of the British & Irish Boxing Authority (BIBA) Review Panel that no further action other than mandatory suspension is required

Notes: 

Richmond Djarbeng down twice in the second round and twice in the fourth round. KO was result of a powerful body-shot. Following video review it is the opinion of the British & Irish Boxing Authority (BIBA) Review Panel that no further action other than mandatory suspension is required – subject to medical report.

Please note: BIBA accept that the World Boxing Organization (WBO) are may take a different view and increase the suspension or add further penalties.

It should be noted that Mr McAllister was eligible to compete for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Africa Championship due to his Ghana National Championship (and PBC Intercontinental Championship) victory over Collinson Korley on the 7th March 2021 in Accra, Ghana – it should also be noted Mr McAllister was eligible to compete for the Ghana National Championship as well as the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Africa Zone Championship due to family heritage.

Additional Notes:

The event, titled Let Battle Commence IV, was deemed a test event, post COVID restrictions being relaxed, 50 spectators were authorised to attend. 

All attending spectators produced proof of negative COVD test and adhered to the COVID plan agreed with the local authorities. 

All Officials, Broadcast and Event team personnel, also the Boxers and coaches tested 5 days prior to event as well as prior to weigh-in. Due to being last minute replacements Marty Kayes and Jay Cartwright were only tested the once on the day prior to event – all negative results.
