Notes: 1) Nathan Russo deducted one point early in first round due to a number of low blows.
2) As James McDonald had suffered a serious KO and had lost consciousness for approximately 10-15 seconds as well as had taken quite a long time to recover sufficiently to be moved from the ring, he was taken to hospital for full check up including MRI scan as such Doctor Oates decided that a ninety (90) day suspension as well as full doctor report stating fit to box being appropriate before Mr. McDonald being allowed to compete again.
3) The Referee, Mr. Jimmy Byrne, Trauma Doctor Dr John Oates and the paramedic team all deserve a special mention due to their prompt attending of, as well as their professionalism in dealing with the serious incident – particular praise must be given to Mr. Byrne for his immediate reacting and calming of a clearly in distress James McDonald. Dr Oates for his prompt reaction as well as his in the ring and on going treatment before handing over to the Ambulance crew and Paramedics and for Mr. Say for his prompt action and handling of the incident as well as his forward thinking by calling for back up paramedics and ambulance to ensure the event would not need to be held up for too long whilst Mr. McDonald was transported to hospital.
