Appendix – April 2016 – Rabbit Punches

Following on from the sad situation of Prichard Colon the ABC are encouraging members to ensure that officials are aware of the ABC stance with regard to Rabbit Punches as such BIBA officials should be aware of our official stance with regard the use of Rabbit Punches.

Special Attention needs to be taken by referees with regard to Rabbit Punches and it should be noted that the British & Irish Boxing Authority has a zero tolerance policy and any boxer caught DELIBERATELY making blows to the back of the head should be reprimanded for the first incident, points deducted for the second incident and if the boxer continues to deliberately throw punches to the back of the opponents head he or she should be immediately disqualified.
