2021-09-04   Cristina Del Valle Pacheco Hilton Brighton Metropole. Win 1/10

Women’s International Boxing Association (WIBA) Featherweight World Championship

Referee Lee Murtagh: Points Lee Murtagh 10-9 – Judges: Carla Fox 10-9 & Steve Tighe 10-9

Both boxers suffered a cut following an accidental clash of heads in the first round, both teams worked the cuts during the interval between rounds, when the bell was rang for the second round Cristina Del Valle Pacheco’s corner threw in the towel to stop the contest.

As the action of throwing in the towel, rather than calling the referee and doctor to check the cut, this could not be deemed a technical draw or no contest and as such a result in favour of Hollie Towl was recorded

Cristina Del Valle Pacheco was a very late change of opponent – reason unknown – This matter will be investigated by Disciplinary Board on Thursday 9th September 2021.
